Tri-County's Volunteers play a crucial role in our daily operations, and we are always looking for able-bodied rescue advocates to assist us with helping the animals in our care.

Become part of our magnificent Dog Walking Team & contribute to the overall well-being of EACH and EVERY pup, to ensure they receive the maximum amount of snuggles, attention, training, and outside time that they deserve. Volunteer Sign-Up Form

We welcome you to apply for this program if you:

Are at least 18 years of age

You must be at least 18 years of age and can provide proof of health insurance.


Physically can squat, bend, twist, walk on uneven surfaces, and lift at least 20 pounds

We must make sure that our dogs and pups are safe in your hands, and that you stay safe in the process!

Are able to commit to at least 4 hours of volunteer service per month

Building a reliable community of helpers takes dedication, and your support makes a difference!

Are able to stand/walk for long periods of time

You have the stamina to stand or walk for long periods and can withstand the high temperatures that Florida summers bring. 


Are willing/able to pay $27 for the Volunteer Shirt & Badge provided by Tri-County.

As a 501c3 Non-Profit, we purchase these needed supplies without funding, and your contribution helps us continue the program!

Have the ability to read, write, and verbally communicate clearly 

All of our dog walkers work directly with other volunteers and staff, and communication is key!

Can attend the Shelter Walking 101 Orientation class

You can attend the Orientation class and a singular 1:1 training session with a long-term dog walking volunteer.

For students needing service hours, SEE THE DONATION PAGE for a downloadable list of donated items we will accept in exchange for community service hours.

School or Business Community hours are not part of the Dog Walking Volunteer program unless more than 50 hours are needed and you must be at least 18 yrs old. However, we do welcome School or Business Community hours in our Cattery Assistant Volunteer program, and you must be at least 16 yrs old.
