FIND A STRAY?
Before calling us, please see steps to take below.
STRAY PET CHECKLIST
1. Contact The Owner!
If you have found a stray pet please check to see if they have a collar with a name tag or phone number on it. If they do have a collar or name tag, please try and contact the pet’s owner.
2. Check The Microchip!
If there is no collar or name tag, take the animal to a local veterinarian or shelter so they can scan and see if the pet has a microchip. If they do, the shelter or the veterinarian will call the microchip company to locate the owner.
3. Call your local shelter!
Someone could be calling all of the shelters in the area looking for their pet. Place a found report with a few shelters or see if they have space to take the pet in.
4. If the shelters do not have space to take in,
posted on Lost and Found websites and post flyers in the area that the pet was found.

CALL US IF YOU FOUND A STRAY
Many people call us weekly, saying they have found a stray pet and would like to drop it off. While we’d love to say yes to everyone, we are required to act in accordance with the law. Since we are NOT an open admission facility, we cannot take every animal in. Intake is based on how much space we have.
